Hello, today I would like to talk about Indonesian food culture.
Indonesia is a country that is formed of more than 17,000 islands, so the country have also many ethnic groups, its number is more than 300.That is to say, in Indonesia, there are many different food cultures.
Today, I explain two features in almost all of Indonesian food cultures, after that I introduce major dishes in Indonesia.
Firstly, in Indonesia, rice is eaten as staple food(→Noticing). The style to eat rice with some dishes is similar to that in Japan.
Secondly, in cooking Indonesian cuisine, many kinds of spice are used. They are mixed to be spicy sauce, for example sambal, or kecap manis.
Now, I would like to introduce major dishes in Indonesia.
soto ayam …chicken soup that have many ingredients (slices of egg and tomato, bean starch noodles, bean sprouts(→Noticing), and so on )
nasi goreng …Indonesian fried rice, with slices of tomato or cucumber and fried egg
sate ayam (sate) …Indonesian grilled chicken, with kacang (peanut) source
pisang goreng …fried slices of banana, Indonesian sweet
